As part of our continuous efforts to build the most user-friendly and comprehensive music rights management platform, we’re constantly evaluating areas of our application where we can improve based on our long-term objectives and the needs of our rightsholders clients. This led us to enhancing how we convey to our rightsholder clients the status of their registration(s)providing more insights into each phase of our registration process for each registration type.
It became apparent to us that simply providing the statuses of Pending, In Progress and Complete regarding the overall registration didn’t provide the granularity that our rightsholder client desired and deserved. This led us to introducing three new registration types:
· Awaiting ISWC Assignment – When a Work has been registered at the U.S. PRO and is eligible for an ISWC but it has yet to be issued.
· Conflict – When a Work registration doesn’t match the work registration information that the U.S. PRO already has on file.
· Possible Match – When a Work registration was accepted by the U.S. PRO but it is not reflecting in their public repertory because it may be identical to a pre-existing registered work.
These new statuses better reflect the realities of work registrations as well as aligns the communication of these situations with our internal processes. To further deliver on our objective of being more transparent we also implemented the ability for our rightsholder clients to expand each registration type and see the status of the work registration at each registration exchange within our network.
